1. No Accounts, Profiles, or Credentials
Curvat.io is intentionally designed without user registration or mandatory sign-ins. Students and teachers can create, edit, explore, and share graphs without ever providing a name, email address, password, or institutional login.
2. 100% Client-Side Mathematical Execution
When you enter formulas, functions, geometry commands, or adjust sliders in Curvat.io, all computation runs entirely on your device using client-side JavaScript (including JSXGraph, MathJS, and MathLive). Your mathematical equations and coordinate points are never sent to a remote server for processing.
3. Graph Links & URL Compression
Sharing a graph creates a stateless URL containing a compressed payload in the URL hash (fragment):
- Everything after the
#g=...symbol stays entirely inside the user's browser and is never transmitted to the web server in HTTP request headers. - Anyone with your shared link opens a fresh client-side copy of the graph without creating an account or modifying your original work.
4. Classroom & LMS Embed Compliance (FERPA & COPPA)
Curvat.io is built specifically to meet the high privacy expectations of K-12 school districts and higher education institutions:
- Automatic Analytics Suppression: When Curvat.io is embedded inside an LMS (such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom, Schoology) via an
<iframe>or loaded with?embed=true, all analytics tracking (Google Analytics) is completely disabled. No tracking scripts are loaded and no advertising or tracking cookies are created for students. - COPPA & FERPA Adherence: Because Curvat.io collects no personal identifiers from students in embedded environments, school districts can safely integrate Curvat.io into lesson plans, assignments, and curriculum materials.
5. Third-Party CDNs & Infrastructure
Curvat.io loads trusted, open-source mathematical libraries (JSXGraph, MathJS, KaTeX, and MathLive) and icons over HTTPS from secure Content Delivery Networks (jsDelivr, cdnjs, Google Fonts). These CDNs receive standard technical transmission data (such as IP address and browser User-Agent) necessary to deliver web assets.
6. Voluntary Tester Feedback System
Curvat.io provides an optional in-app feedback dialog for alpha testers and educators to report bugs or submit feature ideas:
- Submission is 100% voluntary.
- If you choose to submit feedback, the message, optional email (for follow-up), and optional viewport diagnostics are securely transmitted to Google Firebase Firestore for review by the development team.
